How does the free trial work?
Install, dictate, done — no signup, no card. Your first dictation starts a one-month Pro trial with every feature unlocked and 20,000 managed-cloud words included. When it ends, subscribe to Plus or Pro to keep dictating. The trial is never less accurate — we don’t ship a worse experience to anyone.
What’s the archive, exactly?
Every transcription is saved locally as a private, searchable record — your spoken second brain. It’s an open format you can export anytime, and it stays on your Mac whether or not you keep a subscription.
What does Pro’s “bring your own keys” mean?
Pro adds a privacy mode where inference runs through your own provider keys — or fully local models that work offline — so your words never touch our servers, and talking to the provider directly skips our relay, so it’s usually a touch faster. It’s a control/privacy upgrade, not a cheaper path. The trial and Plus run on our managed cloud.
Is my voice private?
Your archive stays on your Mac, nothing you say is ever collected, and we never train on your voice. On the trial and Plus, audio is transcribed in transit through our managed cloud; on Pro you can switch to your own keys or fully local models so nothing touches our servers — local even works in airplane mode.
How do I get my license after paying?
Our payment processor confirms the subscription; your license key is shown on the confirmation page and emailed shortly after. Paste it into Acousmos under Preferences → License. Trouble? support@acousmos.com.
